BUILDING CONDITIONS
Radon monitoring
Build a clearer picture of radon levels across occupied buildings and support a structured programme of assessment and follow-up.
Housing providers, employers and estate teams may need to understand variation across rooms, sites and seasons. Connected electronic monitoring can make changing readings easier to review and help teams assess patterns before and after remedial work.

01
What we monitor
Suitable radon instruments measure radon concentration, reported in Bq/m³. We agree the measurement objective, locations, instrument suitability, maintenance and interpretation with the project team. Temperature and humidity can provide useful environmental context, but do not measure radon themselves.
02
Illustrative application scenario
For example, an estate team is reviewing several ground-floor workplaces. An agreed measurement programme identifies locations requiring further assessment. Electronic readings then help the team understand variation and observe trends following changes to ventilation or specialist remediation.
Short-term readings fluctuate and must not be presented as a substitute for an appropriate long-term assessment. UKHSA guidance describes a typical three-month domestic measurement period; the correct assessment method and applicable local requirements should be confirmed for the building and jurisdiction.
03
What your team sees in NesosIQ
Review readings and trends by room, building and portfolio, with clearly defined averaging periods and measurement context. Agreed thresholds can flag locations for investigation. Data exports can support discussions with radon specialists and the team responsible for the building.
04
What a pilot should establish
Confirm device performance, placement, data continuity and reporting periods. Define who reviews results, what triggers specialist advice and how follow-up measurements will be recorded. Assess whether the information improves prioritisation and closes gaps in the estate’s monitoring programme.
Nesos IoT selects devices around the deployment and measurement requirements. Group-developed hardware may be considered alongside suitable third-party equipment; this is an integration service rather than a single-product offer. Monitoring alone does not remove radon or certify compliance.
Further guidance: UKHSA: measuring radon.

-
No. Nesos IoT deployments use LoRaWAN, a low-power wireless standard designed for monitoring across buildings and estates, so devices do not rely on building Wi-Fi. Network design, gateway connectivity and a site survey are confirmed for each project so coverage fits the environment.
-
Your organisation does. Nesos IoT does not manage alerts or operational responses: your team defines the thresholds, notification routes and response procedures, and NesosIQ can connect to your existing systems through APIs and agreed integrations.
-
Yes. Suitable applications can share the same estate network and NesosIQ platform, so you can start with one challenge and add further monitoring as your needs grow. Our device-agnostic approach selects compatible equipment for each task.

We follow Discover, Survey, Pilot, Deploy, Integrate and Scale, starting with a focused pilot that validates measurements, coverage and the operational response. Nesos IoT is based in St Helier, Jersey, and works across the Channel Islands and beyond. Call +44 (0) 1534 753225 or email info@nesos.co.uk.

From pilot to portfolio
We follow Discover, Survey, Pilot, Deploy, Integrate and Scale: agree the operational need, validate devices and coverage, commission the solution and connect it to the people who will act. Device choice, reporting intervals and integrations are confirmed for each project. Suitable applications can share the estate network and NesosIQ platform.
