ACCESS, PEOPLE & OPERATIONS

Security and vacant-property monitoring

Improve visibility of unexpected activity at unattended buildings, remote assets and spaces between routine visits.

Vacant homes, construction compounds, stores and plant rooms can generate uncertainty for estate teams. A planned combination of access, movement and environmental signals can help prioritise checks and provide context for an incident.

01

What we monitor

Depending on the site, suitable devices may report door or window openings, movement, tamper events and changes in environmental conditions. Power or equipment status may be available through compatible interfaces. We choose signals that answer the operational question and avoid unnecessary collection of personal information.

02

Illustrative application scenario

For example, a vacant building records an opening followed by movement outside an agreed contractor visit. The nominated responder checks the schedule and follows the property’s incident procedure. A separate water or temperature event can prompt a maintenance response rather than a security call-out.

Events need context: movement does not identify an intruder, and a missing update can indicate a connectivity or battery issue. The response process is designed around those distinctions.

REAL-WORLD PROJECT

Municipal data centres in El Marqués, Mexico

In January 2026, RAD announced that El Marqués municipality had selected RAD and NEXTDATA for a project to centralise monitoring across municipal data centres. The proposed scope combines access and motion events with environmental readings and water-leak alerts. This is an announced project illustrating a combined security-and-environment approach; the announcement does not establish completed deployment results.

03

What your team sees in NesosIQ

Bring relevant events into a site-level view with timestamps, trends and device status where supported. Agreed notification routes help the responsible team investigate. Integration with an existing security-management system can be assessed during discovery; video and other high-bandwidth services require suitable separate connectivity.

04

What a pilot should establish

Assess coverage, tamper exposure, power, expected activity and communications resilience. Test the event-to-response chain and agree who is available, including out of hours. Measure useful detections, nuisance notifications and time to investigate before expanding.

This service supports situational awareness. It is not presented as a certified intruder alarm, police-response service or guaranteed prevention of intrusion. Where those are required, the design must include the appropriate specialist systems and monitoring arrangements.

NEXT STEPS

From pilot to portfolio

We follow Discover, Survey, Pilot, Deploy, Integrate and Scale: agree the operational need, validate devices and coverage, commission the solution and connect it to the people who will act. Device choice, reporting intervals and integrations are confirmed for each project. Suitable applications can share the estate network and NesosIQ platform.
