GOLF & OUTDOOR LEISURE
Smart golf course monitoring
Give greenkeepers and club managers a clearer view of the course, maintenance facilities and clubhouse. Nesos IoT connects compatible monitoring devices through NesosIQ, helping teams prioritise inspections, manage resources and assess the results of their decisions.

01
Better information for course management
Monitor soil moisture and temperature at representative greens, tees and fairways, alongside suitable local weather measurements. Use readings and trends to inform irrigation and turf inspections. Compare exposed, shaded and sheltered areas rather than assuming one sensor represents the whole course. Your greenkeeping team sets the agronomic priorities and interprets the findings.
02
Water oversight, from storage to irrigation
Bring tank or reservoir levels, flow readings and compatible pump information into one view. Investigate unusual overnight consumption, low reserves or changes in pump behaviour. Where supported, integrations with existing irrigation controls can be scoped separately, with agreed operating limits and manual override. Establish a consumption baseline and compare subsequent use alongside rainfall, season and course activity.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
Industry perspective
International PGA’s article explores connected irrigation, turf monitoring and equipment maintenance as opportunities for golf-course management. It is an industry overview, not a Nesos case study or a promise of specific savings.
03
Keep maintenance operations visible
Track suitable equipment, review available operating-hour data and monitor fuel storage. Use location reports to help find shared assets and plan servicing around recorded use. Position accuracy, reporting intervals and device compatibility are established during the pilot.
For suitable pumps and plant, NesosIQ trend analysis and anomaly detection can help prioritise investigations. The available measurements and historical data determine what can be assessed; analytics support engineering judgement and do not guarantee advance warning of failure.
04
One network, from fairway to clubhouse
Extend suitable monitoring to clubhouse utilities, water leaks, indoor air quality, cold storage, maintenance buildings and access points. Put the right information in front of greenkeepers, facilities staff and club management through configured NesosIQ dashboards. Select compatible devices around the operational need and integrate existing systems where practical.
05
Designed around island courses
Coastal exposure, changing terrain and separated buildings all influence a deployment. We survey coverage, gateway locations, power and backhaul, and select equipment appropriate to the environment. For island clubs and resorts, visibility of fuel stocks and equipment condition can also support planning around supplier visits, travel and delivery lead times.
06
A focused golf-club pilot
An illustrative pilot could combine soil sensors on contrasting greens, a water-storage level sensor and an irrigation flow meter. The greenkeeping team reviews conditions in NesosIQ, checks alerts on site and records the actions taken. Agree success measures such as reporting reliability, useful alerts, time spent checking remote points and water use in context. Expand only when the information proves useful in daily work.

-
No. Nesos IoT deployments use LoRaWAN, a low-power wireless standard designed for monitoring across buildings and estates, so devices do not rely on building Wi-Fi. Network design, gateway connectivity and a site survey are confirmed for each project so coverage fits the environment.
-
Your organisation does. Nesos IoT does not manage alerts or operational responses: your team defines the thresholds, notification routes and response procedures, and NesosIQ can connect to your existing systems through APIs and agreed integrations.
-
Yes. Suitable applications can share the same estate network and NesosIQ platform, so you can start with one challenge and add further monitoring as your needs grow. Our device-agnostic approach selects compatible equipment for each task.

We follow Discover, Survey, Pilot, Deploy, Integrate and Scale, starting with a focused pilot that validates measurements, coverage and the operational response. Nesos IoT is based in St Helier, Jersey, and works across the Channel Islands and beyond. Call +44 (0) 1534 753225 or email info@nesos.co.uk.

From pilot to portfolio
We follow Discover, Survey, Pilot, Deploy, Integrate and Scale: agree the operational need, validate devices and coverage, commission the solution and connect it to the people who will act. Device choice, reporting intervals and integrations are confirmed for each project. Suitable applications can share the estate network and NesosIQ platform.
